Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it and the control you have over it.
Last updated: October 2026
1. Who we are
TeraByte (“TeraByte”, “we”, “us”) builds websites, automation and NFC products. We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Questions or requests about your information can be sent to terabyte.devsops@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
We only collect what we need to respond to you and deliver our work:
- Enquiry form: your name, email address, the service you are interested in, your budget range and the message you write.
- Email and WhatsApp: your contact details and the content of the messages you send us.
- Project work: information you share with us to deliver a project, such as business details, brand assets and content.
- Technical data: basic data your browser sends to our hosting provider (such as IP address and device type), used for security and keeping the site running.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18, and we do not sell personal information.
3. How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare quotes and proposals.
- To deliver, support and invoice the work you hire us for.
- To keep the website secure and prevent abuse.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Our lawful grounds are your request to engage with us, performing a contract with you, our legitimate interest in running a secure business, and legal obligation. We do not send marketing email unless you have asked for it, and you can opt out at any time.
5. How long we keep it
We keep enquiries only as long as needed to respond and follow up, and project and financial records for as long as we need them to deliver the work and meet legal and tax requirements. After that we delete or anonymise them.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access to our inboxes and accounts. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information we will notify you and the Information Regulator as the law requires.
8. Your rights
Under POPIA you may:
- ask what personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to our processing or withdraw consent you gave;
- lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
Email terabyte.devsops@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. The Information Regulator can be reached at inforegulator.org.za (opens in a new tab).
9. Third-party links
Our footer links to platforms such as Instagram (opens in a new tab) and WhatsApp. These are run by other companies with their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows the current version, and material changes will be highlighted on this page.
